DIY Laundry Soap Part II
As I mentioned in my first article on making your own Laundry Detergent some were unsure about using it due to there sensitive skin. So here is a new recipe for sensitive skin, tested and approved.
Here's what you will need....
1/4 cup washing soda
1/4 cup borax
1 oz liquid castile soap
(Note: I could not find this locally and ended up purchasing on Ebay. I used "Dr. Bonners Baby unscented. If you don't care to buy it on ebay I would suggest trying castile bar soap. 1/4 bar shredded and melted like in the first recipe.)
In your large bucket add the soda and borax then add 4 cups boiling water. Stir until powders are dissolved. Add the liquid soap and stir. Finish by adding 12 cups of cold water and stir. Let sit overnight then its ready to use as is. Makes 1 gallon.
This recipe is slightly more concentrated. I recommend 1/3 cup for top load machines and a scant 1/4 cup for He machines. Again this DIY Laundry soap is low sudsing and is great for your He washing machine.
In Closing
My nieces who have the sensitive skin used the detergent and had no reaction. Even after washing their unmentionables. I would say that the DIY Homemade Laundry Detergent for Sensitive skin is a success!! I hope you give it a try. If you have any questions or comments drop me a line.
Have a Blessed Day!
