Chicken Coop Resort

During our last trip to North Georgia we stopped to visit some dear friends of ours Ed and Linda. Ed had just completed his latest project.... the fanciest chicken coop I have ever seen. I am calling it......
                                       "Linda's Chicken Mountain Resort. "

The wood structure measures 8' x 12'. It has doors that give easy access to the eggs without having to go into the coop and features a porch and ramp so the chickens have easy access to the roosting area.

This is the view from inside showing the nesting boxes and roosting area. If you look closely at the nesting boxes, bottom right corner, one box is occupied. Linda's chickens are called "Golden Comets" and started laying eggs after only one week. Those are some happy chickens.

Below are pvc pipes filled with chicken feed. They did not want the feed directly on the ground and this was the solution.

The coop is entirely enclosed with chicken wire to offer a safe and secure environment and protect the chickens from predators.

If you are planning on building yourself a chicken coop I hope you can glean some ideas from Ed and Linda's. Linda tells me that only a month later her 8 Golden Comets are laying 4 eggs a day.

I hope you have a blessed day!
